We believe in being a sending church and reorienting our church ministries around kingdom priorities. All churches want to grow; all believers want to reach the world. But how did Jesus say this would happen? By gathering resources and building audiences? "Except a grain of wheat fall to the ground and die," he said, "it abides alone. But if it dies, it bears much fruit." The kingdom of God works on the principle of the harvest: living comes by dying; gaining comes by losing. Growing and sending are not at odds, but Christ calls his followers to an altar before he does a platform. Jesus pointed to sending, not gathering, as the key to reaching the world with the gospel. But kingdom multiplication comes at a cost. To see ministry multiply, pastors and churches must take their hands off of their desires for ministry and empower and encourage their people to go out into the world. Even when it comes at great personal cost.
